Inktzwart
(Pitch Black)
A beautiful summer day that turned pitch black. Flight MH17 was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on 17 July 2014. When flying above Ukraine, the plain got shot down from the sky. All 298 innocent people lost their lives.
'Inktzwart‘ (Pitch Black) is an interactive virtual reality (VR) experience about the MH17 plane crash. A digital monument that remembers the victims, the villagers in Ukraine, the relatives and everyone that is touched by this tragic event. The VR experience is a poetic visualization of elements and emotions around MH17. Elements like loss and grief, but also acceptance. In ‘Pitch Black’ digital and poetic art meet interactive storytelling. It is a new way to remember this tragic event.
